Flagged ticket - Create Slack notification?

Hi, 

We are using the flag function on the Jira ticket to highlight blockers. We would like for using the flag function to trigger a message in Slack. This would help us bring all blocked tickets into easy to view location. 

Has anyone used Jira/Slack in this or a similar way? 

Is there native functionality in Jira already for this? Something like a dashboard that will show all flagged (blocked) tickets?

Hi @Mark Dallas - You can use automation to send a slack message when an issue is flagged.  It would work something like this:

• TRIGGER: Field Value Changed (Flagged)
• CONDITION
  • Flagged
    Equals
    Impediment
• ACTION: Send Slack Message

As for viewing all flagged issues... You could create a dashboard and use the Filter Results Gadget to display a simple list of all currently flagged issues using a filter based upon the following JQL:

Flagged = Impediment
