Hi everyone!
I have a question about the filtering options in Jira Work Management | COmpany-managed Project.
I have created 2 custom fields for the team: User Picker (multiple users). The team needs to be able to filter by the users picked in those fields.
Is it possible in JWM?
I have found information here that the filtering is possible by the User picker field for CMP but it does not specify if this field must be for a single or multiple users selection.
Thank you!
I just tried this on my local site and it appears you can filter by single-user custom fields, but not by multi-user custom fields. I'd expect this to be fixed as some point, but am not aware of any concrete plans.
Best, Hannes
... and just to add to the above: Are there any particular views in JWM where you would require this filtering capability? I'm asking because this would work as expected in the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira:
For context, JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. In a sense, it has a few things in common with JWM's list view, however it comes with a range of advanced features, and also works in (and across!) projects of any type, not just JWM projects. Plus, multi-user filtering works as expected!
(Unfortunately, it wouldn't help you with e.g. the board or calendar view, if that's more what you're after.)
Any questions just let me know!

Thanks for the insight! Your app was my first choice when I was researching this topic. However, this app is not free and my company cannot afford it now. hence, I was looking for native solutions.

Hi Karolina,
Yes, you should be able to do that.

Hi John,
Could you please give me some pointers on how can I do that? The team needs this filter in the List view. When I open a list of filters, and go to the bottom I see the "Custom fields" option but the only fields that are available for filtering are custom fields with single or multi-select, not with users.

Go to the Custom Field and edit the Context to add the Project to the context for the custom field. Then come back to the List view, refresh it, and then it should show up. I see user picker fields in my list of custom fields for both the List view and Board and can select values.

Unfortunately, it still does not work. I have two of these custom fields (named CST and CMT). Both of them are added to the context of the project I need. However, they still do not appear in the filter option in the list view.

Sorry, but the screenshot is now showing the projects in the Context.

Hello @Karolina Boguszewska
By any chance, did you find a native solution ? I'm in the exact same situation :/
Thanks !
