Editorial Use - Business vs. Software Board

I'm considering moving over our Editorial Team from our current software project boards to business project boards.

I like the Calendar View, as well as the Timeline and ability for other departments to fill in a form with the Issues (i.e. articles) they're requesting.

However, someone else in the company tested a new business project board, and I am unable to either create new tickets in anything except the To Do Column or make columns other than the ones there now (To Do, Draft, In Review, Approved), which will be a problem for myself or any member of our Team who wants to do this.

Are there any permissions that need to be granted or work-arounds to include these capabilities? Or is it simply a matter of sticking with our current software project boards (which doesn't include some of the abilities of the business project board).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Please note - I am new to Jira. Also, I couldn't find an answer to this exact question in my search of the support pages.

Thanks.

Hi Dolores - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can still use the Blue Create button in the top navigation bar to create issues for JWM projects.

Also, if you set a form up, you can use the form, too.

To move cards, you should be able to just drag them from one column to the next, depending on how your workflow is set up.

Howdy -- once you add more statuses (see here) to your Workflow, the Board view in Jira Work Management will expand with new columns for each new status.

You can also choose which status an "Issue" enters by changing the line from the "Start" circle in the workflow editor.

Thank you Ted.

I'm still not clear on how to go about creating Issues in the columns, and not just the first column either, and how to move Issues across the columns.
