Customizing fields using free version

Edited

Here I have some questions while customizing fields using a free version of Jira Work Management.

1. Can I assign multiple people for task/or subtask?

I was tried to add a custom field "People", and could see the column on the list view. However, I cannot add any members on this column. When I hit the this People column, it showed the message that "Select User", but the next message "No option" was followed by inserting the name or full email address of the members.

This is very different from "Assignee" column, which allows searching and assigning all the members.

2. Can I change "Reporter" into other person except project lead?

When I see the "Reporter column", it showed me (project lead) as a reporter automatically. I want to assign the different reporters for each task/subtask but I cannot edit anything.

Are those two observations limitations on free version? Do I need to upgrade my plan to solve this issues?

Hello @Yangji Kim

Welcome to the community.

Are you using a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? It will say which it is at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

Regardless of which it is, it appears that the Reporter field cannot be edited for the List screen. You might be able to edit it if you click on the issue key to display the full details of the issue.

Hello @Trudy Claspill

Thank you for the answer and support.

I'm using a Team-managed project now.

As following your comments, I found that the Reporter is editable when I clicked on the issue key, however I could change me (as default Reporter) into only Anonymous. I cannot assign other members as Reporter neither. It showed "No option" message when I search the person with their name or email account.

Have you added other users to your site, your Jira product, and/or this specific project? If no others specific users have access then there would be no users to find.
