Cloning a project

Deleted user August 16, 2022

We have invested a lot of time to customize a project for a specific purpose, incl. customized context fields that are required for our dashboards. The project relates to a country, in this case "Germany."

We would like to duplicate or clone this project such that all this customization remains intact and we can use it for another country, e.g., "France."

How can this be done?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the community, @[deleted].

Is your project a company-managed or team-manager project?

I don't know. How do I determine this? We have full control, so I guess company-managed...

You can find the project type under "Projects" > "View all projects"

The projects are "Team-managed-business" projects. However, we could possibly change this. So would there be a way to deep clone the "Team-managed-buiness"-type project?

Hi @[deleted], I’m Prisca from codefortynine, and I’m answering on behalf of Marlene.
Unfortunately, Jira does not yet offer sufficient interfaces for us to be able to clone team-managed projects with Deep Clone for Jira.
However, it’s possible to clone company-managed Jira projects, including issues, components, versions and settings.

You can find more information in our documentation. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.
