We are in a team-managed project under Jira Work Management and have recently updated the status names/column names, for example, here : Image 2023-09-27 at 1.55.37 pm
See our currently workflow here: Image 2023-09-27 at 1.53.21 pm
We have noticed that under one of our tasks we have some Child Issues which appear to be assigned to old statuses/column names which we do not have anymore. We cannot work out a way to move these items to our new columns.
See the options here : Image 2023-09-27 at 1.53.55 pm please note, these items are not on our current board, but unsure where they are or how we can move to a new status/column.
Can you please show us how we can access these items and move them onto our current board?
Please note, we only have one board.
Hello @Jared Fusedale
In JWM projects Subtask types of issues are shown as a group under their parent issue, regardless of the statuses of the individual subtasks. The Subtasks will not be shown separately in the column that matches their status.
Subtasks are denoted on the card for the parent issue thus:
You can click on that to show the list of subtasks directly below the parent:
You cannot drag those subtask items individually to other columns on the board.
The fact that the subtasks retain different statuses than the statuses in the workflow you showed tells me that you must actually have two workflows defined in that project; one for subtasks and the other for other types of issues. You can confirm the workflow that is used by subtasks by going to the Project Settings > Issue Types, and selecting the subtask issue type and click the Edit Workflow button.
