We have been using Jira Work Management (JWM) for several years to track our work activities. I am now looking for a reminder solution to provide reminder notifications to help renew software licenses, professional licenses, continuing education, company work licenses, employee training, etc.
Is anyone using JWM to perform these tasks? If not, does Atlassian provide a software solution other than JWM to perform these tasks?
Hi @David Reynolds - While it is possible to do some tracking in JWM, I would recommend Jira Service Management Premium for this. It comes with Jira Assets which you can use to track all of those scenarios listed.
Using the software license tracking as an example... You could have an object type for software licenses which includes attributes like software name, expiration date, total licenses, in use, remaining, license administrator, etc. You could use a scheduled automation rule that evaluates expiration date on a desired frequency and sends a notification to the license administrator that they need to take action.
+1 for JSM instead of JWM.
@David Reynolds , you can explain any issues you are facing with JWM.

I have a professional license in multiple states. Each state has different continuing education requirements and renewal cycles. I am currently using JWM to manage these renewals. This scenario works for just me.
My company is trying to track company license renewals, employee training renewals, and software license renewals. Considering the complexity of the various renewal cycles, I suspect JWM is not optimized for this task.
I plan to research JSM.

I know teams using JWM for the given asks.
It is basically on the workflow statuses that we want the work item to go through in the life cycle and automated emails when the duedate on the tasks are near.
Are you facing any specific challenges in implementing the process flow for these tasks?
