Add a type issue in one project and make it available for all other project

Yingyi June 26, 2024

I created a new issue type in a project

when I create a new project, I still cannot select the one I create, I need to redo the process. Could I do it once and apply to all projects?

Hello @Yingyi

Can you provide more information about the Type of these projects? You can get that information from the Type column on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.

If the projects are Team Managed, then the new issue types you create in those projects are project specific and are not accessible in other projects. That is by design for Team Managed projects - they are intended to be mostly stand-alone and able to be customized in a manner to not impact other projects in the system.

A Jira Administrator can create issue types that can be shared among Company Managed projects, but there is no way to share issue types between Team Managed projects.
