Add Watchers to all Projects under a specific Category

To be as transparent as possible for my team, I am looking for an easy way to add "Watchers" for all "Issues" under all  "Projects" created in a specific "Category"?

Possible??

Hi @Daren Collins,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

You can do this using an automation, just add one that checks the project category like this:

Because you want to do this on all project, be aware that global automation rule have a limit on them, on the Standard plan you have 500 executions/month, so instead of making the rule global you can make it project specific. If you do, then you can remove the condition that checks the category since you control which projects gets the rule.

@Mikael Sandberg has answered the question. but i am simply going to add a thought.

"Adding everyone as a watcher to everything (with a category) sounds like a great way to get as many people as possible cursing Jira for providing too many updates, clogging up their inboxes and leading to people creating rules (in Outlook) to filter or delete them (without ever reading them) and worse still.....not liking Jira because of this unprompted notification overkill  behavior"

Like I say, just a thought ☮
