We have Jira Premium and defined some additional issue types above the epic issue type. We have a custom field that we require on issues. We created a JWM project using the Project Management Template to see how it worked. The templates are very handy and standard for business areas. Is there an ability to add the "parent link" field to the forms for the JWM project created from the project management template? Is there a way to add custom fields you have defined for your Jira Software projects to the JWM project created from the project management template? This allows the business work for our strategic roadmap to be visible to the organization.
We created a JWM project without a template using an existing workflow because we didn't want to create a new workflow.
Hello @Joni Johnson
It is not possible to modify the built in project templates that are available for project creation.
If you are creating Company Managed projects, then during the creation process there is a point at which you can elect to create the project by sharing the configuration of an already existing project. In that way, your new project can use the same workflow, screens, fields, etc. as the specified project.
This is available only for Company Managed projects, not Team Managed projects.
If you customized a Team Managed project with a custom field, those can't be shared with other projects.
