About Jira software VS Jira work management

Snehal Bhatt July 14, 2021

So We are very new to Jira and Atlassian community.

We are in the IT service industry and managing clients from several countries

Now we want to move to Jira for Project management and bug management to start with and then slowly and gradually want to bring all of our department on board.

Question what I have is:

I am confused between Jira Software and Jira work management

  • Both are different or the same?
  • What is the pricing of it? for Jira I can see as 7 USD per month for Jira work management I am seeing as 5 USD per month. so can you guys elaborate on that, please?
  • If anyone from similar industry is using Jira then love to hear the feedback of them as well

TIA

Hi @Snehal Bhatt

So which shall we go ahead with? we need to subscribe for both?

Jira Software would suffice. At the moment it is the case that you will get Jira Work Management without any additional cost.
So let's say you go with 20 users (20 employees) you would pay for 20 users Jira Software but all of the 20 can use the features of Jira Work Management (no additional charge).

Regards,
Daniel

Hi Snehal - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Jira Work Management is geared more towards Business projects - like HR, Legal, Sales, etc.

Jira Software is geared more towards Software Development teams - like Scrum, Kanban, Bug management, etc.

Jira Service Management is geared more towards helpdesks, ITSM, etc.

I hope that helps a little.

Yes, This helps and it is bit clear as well

Wha we want to achieve is both things

  •  Software Development teams - like Scrum, Kanban, Bug management, etc.

  • Business projects - like HR, Legal, Sales, etc

So which shall we go ahead with? we need to subscribe for both?
