3 questions related to improving task creation

Hello,

I have several questions related to improving task creation:

  1. Would it be possible to have a special view of board, list, calendar and schedule, but for all projects, not only 1?issue1.JPG
  2. Would it be possible to mark the vacations of each user so as not to be able to create a task for them during their vacation period?
  3. Would it be possible to mark a periodicity to a task? Daily, weekly, monthly...

If these functionalities do not exist in the base program, could you indicate the applications that would allow it?

Thank you!

Hi, @Carolina Rubí !

Use Recurring Checklists and Report to solve 2 and 3 questions. My team developed this add-on to manage recurring tasks with a checklist.

For your case:

2. To achieve this, set a recurring and to stop recurring during the user vacation period, Use Enable/Disable feature

3. To set a daily/weekly task, use recurring feature. It`s a simple feature that acts as Jira schedule

Very useful, thank you so much Karyna!

Hi @Carolina Rubí

If you consider using plugins the ActivityTimeline plugin could be a solution.

"1. Would it be possible to have a special view of board, list, calendar and schedule, but for all projects, not only 1?"

ActivityTimeline has a timeline view where you can see all users or teams in one calendar. In the Left Panel (like backlog) you can filter all tasks by "Project" and schedule the issues with simple drag-n-drop to a timeline.

"2. Would it be possible to mark the vacations of each user so as not to be able to create a task for them during their vacation period?"

In the ActivityTimeline timeline view can warn you that issue is scheduled on a vacation. Currently, this is the only solution in Jira.

"3. Would it be possible to mark a periodicity to a task? Daily, weekly, monthly..."

In ActivityTimeline you can create custom events like booking, meetings, etc. with a recurrence.

If you found our features useful or have any additional requirements please feel free to ask me. We can provide a demo session for you if needed.
Best, Nataliya, ActivityTimeline Team

Very useful, thank you so much Nataliya!

Hi @Carolina Rubí ,

in short, no that is not possible OOTB. You would need to check the Marketplace for options.

Thank you @Jack Brickey , do you know some of them?

I don't have any direct experience. Regarding calendars, vacations and availability you can look at Tempo. You can then consider a dashboard to show a multi-project view.
