Since launching JWM in 2021, users have been telling us how much value they get from Jira Work Management and its powerful toolset designed for business teams. Take the List View for example, business teams tell us they love the familiarity of a spreadsheet combined with the power of Jira. We’re only scratching the surface and today I want to give the Community a sneak-peak at something we’re working on — our next step to helping unleash the power of business teams in Jira.
Admins have told us that the shared configuration model of company-managed projects has allowed them to efficiently manage their JWM deployments at scale but that the power of shared configuration is not always required. They’ve told us that an easier-to-use configuration that is managed at the team level would save them time and allow more business teams to access the benefits of Jira Work Management.
We’ve heard you loud and clear and are currently experimenting with team-managed projects in Jira Work Management. Team-managed projects can easily be created and configured at the team-level by a project admin with easy-to-use controls that retain the power users have come to expect from Jira. Team-managed projects in Jira Work Management will share many of the same administration controls that users are familiar with from Jira Software.
Some users will already be able to select the team-managed option when creating a Jira Work Management project (after selecting a template). If you don’t have this option just yet, don’t panic. Over the coming weeks we’ll monitor the impact of team-managed projects and continue to roll this option out to more users.
As we make progress I’ll be sure to keep you updated. Please drop any questions or thoughts in the chat below.
