upload sprints to jira cloud in bulk

Stefanie Sullivan December 1, 2023

I would like to upload all the sprints to each of my projects next year as opposed to creating them one by one.

How can I upload a csv of all of my sprints? What is the format?

Hi @Stefanie Sullivan,

Importing sprints via csv does not seem to be supported. While there is a feature request for it that you can track here: JRACLOUD-64545, judging by its age it is not likely to be implemented soon.

As an alternative, Jira's REST API does support the creation of sprints programatically. You can find more details in the API documentation.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Stefanie Sullivan

As @Walter Buggenhout has advised, there is no native importation of Sprints via CSV, so you must use the REST API.

Refer to JSWCLOUD-5942 for the other corresponding feature request, which also contains information on a little tool I made called JiraSprintBuddy that can mass create Sprints from a CSV via the REST API for you.
