Hello all
Is it possible to get a 4-layer system in Jira starting with an Epic >> Feature >> Story >> Sub task
I have now created a solution in Plans with an Initiative as the top layer then you get the Epic , Story and Subtask.
But I would like to work with a Feature because this most closely approaches the Agile way.
Epic for the duration of 1 year
Feature for the duration of 3 months or 1PI
Userstory for a task
Subtask for performing a subtask
I would love to hear your experiences
Hi @Eric Roetenberg,
No, unfortunately not (out of the box). Jira Software has a fixed issue hierarchy consisting of Epic >> Story >> Sub-Task.
In the premium version of the tool, using Advanced Roadmaps, you can expand that hierarchy, but only above the Epic level. You can introduce additional levels there, but only above Epics, not in between.
The marketplace may offer solutions where you can create more dynamic hierarchies. It would e.g. depend on issue links to represent the relationship between issues. The first and most relevant option that immediately comes to my mind would be Structure by ALM Works (now Tempo).
Hope this helps!
