customising the Jira tab icon

Deborah Sanderson February 10, 2021

how can I customise the tab icon for Chrome so that each project has a different colour?  when many tabs are open, one colour (blue) does not help me locate the open ticket on any particular tab.

You can display the project icon on the browser tab, it is not a color, but if the icons are different it could work.

Settings(cog) /System / Look and feel, under Favicon, check  Use project avatar/icon as favicon

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-75258#:~:text=The%20Jira%20Admin%20user%20can,use%20project%20avatar%20as%20favicon.

Although it does not change the icon for the customer portal, for Jira Service Management.

@Deborah Sanderson  , the favicon that you see on the tab is common for your jira site.

You can update it as documented in https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-the-look-and-feel-of-jira-applications/  but it cannot be different for different projects.

thanks very much for your reply Fazila - that's a pity, as a different colour per project would make using and identifying tabs much easier. Let us know if you ever find you can make this change available!
