Hi Google Member, welcome to the Community.

well you can simply click the "Create subtask" button in the detailed issue view and subsequent sub-tasks can be created using the "+" icon above the list of sub-tasks. If you want to do something in a repeated manner then consider using Automation. If you need more detailed assistance please provide more details on your goals/requirements.

Thanks Jack for the prompt response. I should've clarified that I am in next-gen project mode. I don't see this option available. Is this possible under next-gen?

Yes you can create multiple subtasks under a single parent task easily. The image below should get you going.

Thanks Jack for the screenshots, that is helpful. Is there any way to create the subtasks under the issue types section? (/jira/software/projects/PROJECTNAME/settings/issuetypes/xyz

This way they are created automatically for every issue type? Or is there a better way to tackle this? Thanks again for all your help

well you define the Issuetypes there and would need to add be sure you have subtasks defined as an issuetype for sure. If you now want to have sub-tasks automatically created for every task/story or every one that meets certain criteria then you should turn to Automation...

Trigger - issue created

Condition - issuetype = task/story

Condition - xxx (whatever you might need to ensure subtasks are not created when undesired.

Action - create subtask, create subtask....
