Hi I'm new with Jira and I'm tryng to set it up for an university project, I was tryng to setup a simple automation that had to copy the value of a custom field(a user) from the epic to a child ticket. Th field name is Responsabile and I've added it to both Epic and task, but when in the automatation i ask to copy the value from the epic an error pop up sayng that it can't find it... of corse the issue type Documento is child of the epic, I've also tryed to use parent issue but 0 result...

Hi @Francesco Ferraioli ,

Your approach is right. Please verify the few configurations.

Please check the Permission Scheme that the role-atlassian-addon have the permission to edit issues, then check the workflow properties may be it is not granted from there.

Second, Please verify that the field must be on the relevant screen, you can verify it by going to Project summary > Screen Schemes > Screens.

Hi Francesco, welcome to the community!!

You can try to verify if the field does not have a context configured or that the same values exist for the epic as for your type of incident.
You can look at the knowledge base documentation:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/edit-a-custom-field-context/

I hope it is useful to you

Regards
