automation rule that would edit a custom field value in a  parent issue only when all sub-task close

Stefano Colagiacomo April 23, 2024

Looking for assistance on creating an automation rule that would edit a custom field value in a  parent issue only when all particular sub-tasks are completed.

I mean  this: think subtask named X if you have three subtasks for one Issue Parent:

Issue parent has:
1 subtask  (sub-task type)
2 X1 (sub-task type)
3 X2 (sub-task type)

If 2 and 3 are closed the field value changed, I hope to be clear

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Stefano Colagiacomo , there is a template in the library that closes the parent when all children are closed. This could easily be modified to update the parent custom field rather than closing the parent by simply changing the Action component.

let me know if that does not meet your needs.
