Hello.
I want to automate that when an Issue is created will be assigned to the corresponded SPRING based in the Due date for the Issue.
EXAMPLE:
Assuming that I have 3 Sprints:
Sprint A - Start Jan 1st - End Jan 15
Sprint B - Start Jan 16 - End Jan 31
Sprint C - Start Feb 1st - End Feb 15
If I create a Story with the Due date = Jan 30th I want that this Story will be automatically assigned to the Sprint 2.
Is this possible? I am not sure how to navigate between Sprints in Jira Automate.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
Regards
Reading your use case, are you sure that a Kanban approach would not be better suiting your work style?
Instead of auto-moving issue to some future timebox (sprint), you could just manually sort the backlog and then your staff work on the topmost items.
Just my 5c.
Can I clarify:
^ If this is correct, what's the benefit of the sprints? Why not just have three boards filtered based on due date ranges, and avoid the need for automation?

Hello Stephen.
I am totally agree with you. Based in this case it looks like there is no value for Sprints and so far I do not have a correct answer. It looks like the requirement is to automate an special type of issue to be auto assign based in the Due date. But this will be not the case for all issue types.
Because of this Sprints are still needed
