Our Jira admin team just understanding we can add a context for a similar custom field in Jira. so we decide to clean up our duplicate custom filed. then we had this problem:
when we modify the duplicate custom filed, the existing ticket which use that custom filed will loss the old data.
the future ticket is working fine with adjusted custom filed value, but how we can keep the old value for those existing tickets.
i had been read a few articles about this issue, they suggest: using bulk change to transfer the old value to new value.

this is the article i read today. But do you have any other smart options? or is there some Jira plugin tool we can use to solve this problem?
