Hi @La_Shonda King My name is Habib I will do my best to help you with this request:

Thank you for your question. To add columns to your Jira board, you need to make sure that it is not in the "Simplified workflow" mode.

Here's how to turn off the simplified workflow:

  1. Go to your Jira board and click on the three-dot icon on the right corner of the board.
  2. Select "Board settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the "General" section, you should see "Columns". Click the "Columns" hyperlink.
  4. It displays your Board columns.  You can add or remove columns from this page.
  5. To switch from "Simplified workflow" to "Default" mode, uncheck the "Simplified workflow" option.
  6. Once you uncheck this option, the board view will refresh, and you should be able to see the columns on the board.

If you still cannot add columns after turning off the simplified workflow, it might be an issue with the board configuration in Jira. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache to see if it helps.

If you are unable to add columns in Jira after switching to a simplified workflow, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check your project settings: Ensure that your project settings are configured to allow you to add columns. To do this, go to your project settings and click on "Columns" under the "Issue Features" section. Here, you can check if the option to add columns is enabled.

2. Reset your board: If you have moved some filters and messed up your workflow, you can try resetting your board to its default settings. To do this, go to your board settings and click on "Columns" under the "General" section. Here, you can reset your board to its default settings by clicking on the "Reset to defaults" button.

3. Reconfigure your workflow: If resetting your board does not work, you can try reconfiguring your workflow. This involves creating a new workflow that meets your requirements and mapping it to your project. You can then configure your board to use this new workflow.

4. Seek help from Jira support: If you are still unable to add columns after trying the above steps, you can seek help from Jira support. They can assist you in resolving the issue and provide you with additional guidance.

Remember to always backup your data before making any changes to your workflows or configurations. This will ensure that you can easily revert to a previous state if anything goes wrong.

I hope this solution helps. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks, Habib

I tried that but unable to check anything..should I just go back?

I just wanted all my statuses to have a separate column.  It was working until a made filters earlier.
