Hi this is madhura,
Quite sometime i'm not receiving any jira notification emails even when assignee comments or changes the ticket status. Being a reporter i should be receiving the notification but not.! please help
Hello @madhura
There is a limitation on Jira Software notifications for the Free plan, which is capped at 100 notifications per day. When the limit of 100 notifications per day is hit, all notifications within your site will be paused until the next day.
Further information on this may be found at What is the Free Jira Cloud plan?
Quote from that source:
Email notifications
Jira can send a maximum of 100 emails per day on the Free plan, then email notifications will be paused until the following day. You can upgrade your plan to allow for more email notifications. If you're trialing Standard, Premium or Enterprise plan, and need to increase your daily email limit, contact our support team.
Could you confirm if others on the team are getting notifications each day? If so, do these notifications stop around a specific point (possibly when the 100 limits hit)?
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for responding.!
Well if we consider daily limits it wont cross 100., and yes all my teammates are receiving notification.!

Hello,
I took a look to see if there were any email issues associated with your account and did see there was a failed delivery attempt back in March, which may be causing notifications to not be delivered.
Here is the error we're seeing with PII removed:
550: 550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try 550-5.1.1 double-checking the recipient's email address for typos or 550-5.1.1 unnecessary spaces. Learn more at 550 5.1.1
This could have been due to a mail migration or a change to your mail systems. I've gone ahead and cleared out this failed attempt, please let us know if notifications start flowing again.
We also reviewed all emails at your domain and saw multiple others failed delivery attempts right around the same day. We've gone ahead and cleared those out two, we suspect others might not have been getting notifications as well.
Again, please let us know if notifications start flowing or if they're still stalled.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers

Hello @madhura
Welcome to the community.
A JIRA Administrator can use the Notification Helper to determine if a notification should be getting sent to you for a specific issue for a specific action. Refer to:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-the-jira-admin-helper/
Additionally, you should confirm that you have email notifications enabled in your Personal Settings. Refer to
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/manage-your-jira-personal-settings/
If both of those indicate that you should be receiving email notifications, then it is possible that your email address has been blacklisted on the JIRA side. That would require somebody from Atlassian to un-blacklist your email address. Since you are on the Free plan, I don't think you can open a support ticket with Atlassian directly, so I'm not sure how you would reach them. Sometimes they are reviewing posts on this community, and a few times when I've added this type of response about blacklisted emails one of the Atlassian Team members has seen it and pro-actively taken action for the user.

Greetings Trudy.!
Thanks for responding.!
Checked both the links which were shared, both looks fine for me and also got confirmation from our system admin.!! All the preferences, notifications are enabled.
As you said, my email address might have been blacklisted.
In hope to reach Atlassian Team members.!!

Hi Madhura - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You need to check the Notification Scheme for the project to see if anything changed which who should receive notifications when.

I would submit a support ticket with Atlassian to see if the email for the user is on their blacklist. I just had a user that happened to and Atlassian cleared it up.

Hello,
I'm having the same issue as others mention above. Whenever I comment to myself, I do not receive any emails. When other people comment to me, then I do receive emails. And if I comment to someonelse he also receives emails.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Ralf Putter

What do you mean by "comment to myself"? Are you mentioning yourself in a comment?
Do you receive email notifications for other changes you make to the same issue?
Click on your avatar and select Personal Settings. Do you have this box checked or unchecked?
If the box is unchecked then you will not receive email notifications when you mention yourself in a comment, nor for any other change that you make to an issue.

Indeed I meant email notifications to myself.
But thank you very much, checking the box "You make changes to the issue" was the solution for my problem. Everything works well now again.

Hi,
I'm facing similar issue as Madhura.
I'm not getting Jira notifications if someone comments on the tasks for which I'm the reporter. And I'm not getting notifications when a new task is assigned in Jira.
Tried all available settings in Jira and none worked. Any fix for me please?
Thank you.
Regards,
Pavan

Hello @Saipavan Telukuntla
Do you receive other notifications from Jira?
Do other users of your Jira system receive notifications?
Have you worked with your Jira Administrators to confirm that the Notifications are configured such that you should be receiving notifications for those events?
Are you using Jira Cloud of Jira Server/Data Center?
If you are using Jira Cloud are you on a free or paid subscription?
