When issue/task/bug is assigned to a resource, the timer starts automatically.

When issue/task/bug is assigned to a resource, the timer starts automatically. Is there any setting to configure it as manual logging of efforts and avoid automatic time tracking?

Hi @Gulam Moinuddin Khan and welcome to the community!

If there is an automation about logging time, then you really should talk to your jira admin and investigate possible jira automation rules, or PF within issues' workflows.

Jira has the time tracking fields, which consists of original estimate, remaining estimate and time spent. The jira administrator can place these fields at the user's disposal and let him/her decide whether to log time or not.
