What logging is needed to see issue values coming via the API?

I have a 3rd party created app (no access to source code) that will create issues via API.  One of the fields it sets is custom field of single user picker.  For one particular user, the field never gets sets.  I think it may be a case sensitivity issue.  The app is sending user "JSmith" but the user in jira is "jsmith".  I tried setting the logging for "com.atlassian" to debug but cannot see the actual values passed for each field.  What logging do I need to set to see all the field values sent over when creating an issue via the API?
