Hi,
I've created a new project and its related epics, but everytime I add a new story/task I get a popup stating: "Your issue has been created but is not currently visible".
I can see my tasks when I click on 'Backlog', but not in the 'Active sprints'.
Admitedly, I haven't moved any issues from the backlog to 'ToDo' / 'Selected for Sprint' (since I'm only just setting it up), but I would've thought I'd be able to see the Backlog column populated with the issues
The board settings clearly shows that the issues should be showing in the Backlog, but when I go back to the board it's empty.
FYI, I've created 3 additional boards, one for each of my teams and am hoping to use the default board for Sprint Planning, to simply drag issues from the 'Backlog' into 'Selected for Sprint'. The 3 team boards will then show their 'Selected for Sprint' items, allowing them to focus on their issues for the sprint.
Any ideas as to how I can show the Backlog issues on the Sprint board?
Thanks
Hello @Derrick Robinson
Welcome to the community.
From what you have shown, you have created a Scrum Board. There are two views for a Scrum Board - the Backlog and the Board.
The Board (your second image) will show only issues that have been assigned to Sprints where the Sprints have also been "started" and not yet "completed". The purpose of the board is to show only those issues that are part of an in progress sprint. Your board should contain columns (with the statuses mapped to them) for all the statuses your issues may go through while being worked on in an Active Sprint.
To see the issues that have not been assigned to a sprint, or assigned to a sprint that has not been started, you need to look at the Backlog view. You should see that option in the navigation pane on the left.
I resolved this using a slightly different approach by creating a new Kanban board (& therefore not based on sprint) which allows me to simply display the Backlog in one column & 'Selected for sprint' in the other column.
This allows the Monday morning Sprint planning to take place with the whole team being able to view the Backlog & be part of the planning process to determine the work for the sprint.
The 'Selected for Sprint' tasks can then be seen in the teams inidividual Backlogs.
