Using a Jira Automation Scheduled trigger does not result in and email

Alex Czerwinski August 9, 2022

Hi, I have created an Automation rule using a Scheduled trigger to send an email whenever a JQL rule is true.

When I select the option to manually Run Rule, the rule works fine and an email is sent out to a number of email addresses.

The problem is that when selecting "Fixed rate of every*" this would mean that the rule would run every day (at a certain time).  But no emails have been sent.

Is there something else that needs to be set to automate running the rule daily?

This is the rule I have created:

Thank you for your responses Bill Sheboy and Tansu Akdeniz.

I've no noticed that the rule runs 24 hours after the last edit and has now run this morning.

So that I can better control the timings I have set up a Cron expression for it to be run Mon-Fri.

Thank you so much for your replies nd help.

Hi @Alex Czerwinski -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

For a question like this, please post images of your complete automation rule and the audit log, showing the details of the rule execution.  Those will provide context for the community to offer suggestions.  Thanks!

Also, what is your license level for Jira Cloud: free, standard, premium, etc.?  It is possible you have exceeded your usage limits and so rule triggering and email sending may be impacted.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Alex Czerwinski

Welcome to the community.

Automation should send e-mails depending on your config.

What about the audit logs? Is there any failure? Or maybe there is no issue matching the JQL so it doesn't work?

Also, please take a look at this setting: Only include issues that have changed since the last time this rule executed.
