Using HOURS in JIRA instead of POINTS

I am getting a lot of heartburn from my team regarding the use of Sprint Points against their work vs using hours. I know that on a previous team we used points in the JIRA boards to score the work they had but we were also able to add a widget (I think that is how we did it) that collected hours as well to give a more specific EVM report for the customer. Developers were able to go into their assigned tickets and enter start and stop times for the work that they did on that specific ticket. 

Does anyone have any idea how to add such a feature to a JIRA board?
