Today there was some sort of update to Jira which changed the layout and functionality of some things.
I am trying to change my avatar, but not having any luck doing so.
I went into my profile and uploaded a new image in my avatar section, and clicked Save, but my old avatar still shows up everywhere.
Is this a glitch with the new Jira interface or is there another method I should follow?
Hi Adam,
Is this still a problem today? I realize it's been about 2 days you created this post. I know that updating a profile image/avatar on our cloud instances can sometimes take 10-15 minutes in order to propagate the related Atlassian sites.
When you upload this new image, are you getting any sort of error or confirmation message?
If you still cannot see this updated image, I would recommend trying to clear out your cookies and caches in your browser. This is one possible step to take in order to help make sure that isn't the problem here. If you have already done that, try going directly to https://id.atlassian.com/ And then see if you can change your profile image there.
I am interested to see if that specific page reflects this image change, if it does not, first try to see if you can do a hard refresh. If you are still not seeing this change, try waiting 15 minutes and then try a hard refresh once more.
Please let us know the results.
Andy
The suggestion to refresh the browser cache was what sorted things out for me, thank you!

Has this problem reemerged? I am unable to update my profile photo. I get an option to upload a photo but when I click it, nothing happens.

@Keith Shaw It looks like there was a bug for this in our Identity project tracker: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ID-6754
This bug appears to have been fixed at this time.
Thanks for the reports everyone. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I found possible temporary solution until the problem is solved.
1. Navigate to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile#edit-avatar
2. Upload image
3. Ignore popup after uploading and navigate to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile
4. That's it
