Trello to Jira migration

Hey there! I got a couple of questions and would appreciate any help :)

1. Please advise if it's possible to migrate Trello cards to already existing Jira project? We need it because we are planning to use Trello along with Jira and migrate new Trello cards to Jira from time to time.

2. When we've tried to mirgate Trello cards to a new Jira project (not what we need but still) not all users were added to Jira. They received no invitation and we got no error. Could anyone advise on this issue?

Hello @Oksana N

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Answering your questions:

1 - As you can see in this documentation, the Jira Import client from Trello Application only export the cards from Trello into new projects, so it is not possible to add them directly to existing projects. We have a feature request to implement that possibility in Jira:

Allow Trello content to be Imported in Existing JIRA projects

For now, you can work around it with two options:

- Once you import your Trello Cards to a new project, bulk move the issues to your existing projects and delete the first one.

- If you have the Business Class plan of Trello, you can export your Cards to CSV and import the CSV file to Jira, selecting the project you want them to be added.

2 - Indeed, the import of users in Jira from Trello is currently not working as expected, so we created the following bug to investigate and fix this behavior:

When importing data from Trello, multiple errors are shown related to users

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion and bug above to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, we suggest you to manually add the relevant Trello users to Jira before the import of the issues, making sure they are properly added with the permission to the correct project once the import is complete.

Let us know if you have any questions.
