Sprint value missing for stories after sprint closed

Dear community, 

 

I have a question about the "Sprint" field in story's for the jira cloud version. 

Since a couple of weeks the field seems to be emptied after a sprint is closed. It seems like it only holds a value if a sprint is actually active.

However, previously I could see all the sprint a story was in. Is there a way to configure this back? 

I see in the history of a story in which sprint it used to be, however my customer has issues with that as he is missing transparency which ticket is in which sprint. 

Is there a solution to this? Maybe I'm just missing a configuration...

this sure seems odd. So if you go to Reports > Sprint report are no issues shown after sprint closed? If not then, I'm wondering if there is some automation that has gone bad. For example maybe you have an automation intended to clear the sprint field if an issue is not completed in the sprint. Shot in the dark here.
