My team consisting of a few developers and testers is looking for a tool that helps us plan and track work on a timeline in Jira Cloud. We need to:
  • plan target start and end date in a given status (for example: development will take us 5 days, and test 2 days)
  • show a person working on it on a given day (during the development phase a dev is assigned to an issue, when the issue enters the testing phase it will be reassigned to a tester. We want to show that Jerry will be busy with this issue from Tuesday to Friday, and Rick from Monday to Wednesday)
  • mark team members' days off (so we can see that tests can start on Thursday, but our tester Rick is then on holiday)

The idea behind these requirements is to be able to show the whole lifecycle of an issue during the sprint and to be able to track how changes to given steps (such as coding, CR, deployment) affect test and release.

As far as I'm aware Advanced Roadmaps do not allow to plan time spent in a given status, nor to show future assignees, not to mention showing the days off.
I wonder if there is any 3rd party Jira app that can help us with that?

Best regards,
Kasia

Hi @Katarzyna Szumilas_Deviniti_

Our development team is constantly improving an application called Team Planner - Resource Planning and Capacity Planning that might meet your team's requirements.

The application is used to plan the work of the team for a given period. For example, from the start of a sprint to its end. What's more, once you create such a plan, you can define its purpose.

On the plan, you can easily add your users and tasks they should complete during a specific period. Your tasks can be extended. There are filters (including sprint filter) you can use to display your specific Jira issues.

There's also the possibility to add a day off to your plan to a specific user.

Another feature that might be valuable for your team is the possibility to display different estimations. In our app, you can display Story Points or Original Estimate of your tasks, so it's easier to determine how much work will be required to achieve a given goal.

In case your team is interested in our app we are happy to meet you and answer all your questions. You can book a demo session with us here. Or if you prefer you can contact us by our customer portal here.

As I mentioned, Team Planner is at the early stage of the product. We are still developing it and therefore, we are very keen on every feedback. Therefore, should you need it, we will be happy discuss special discounts in exchange for your opinion.

Kind regards,
Michał
