Showing end date vs due date on the roadmap

I understand that the roadmap child issue bars are created based on start date and due date. However, when working on projects, we sometimes go over the due date.  In roadmaps, there is no indication that a child issue is still being worked on past a due date so it's hard to see what actually took longer than the due date visually at a glance on the roadmap.  Is there a way to continue the bar (perhaps in a different color or pattern) to show work is being done beyond the due date until an actual end date/done date is given or until the resolution is changed to done? Thank you for any help with this!
