Hello Team,

Hope you are well.

I want to know if I can send outbound emails from Jira or not?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Mohamed Mahmoud , Welcome to the community.

Jira absolutely sends outbound Emails as notifications to Jira licensed users. You can also use automation to send emails triggered by various events to individuals that do not have user licenses.

Can I send outbound email to someone who does not have Jira to receive it through gmail normally?

You will need to use automation to send non-licensed users emails. you will need to create a rule that triggers on the desired event(s) where you wish to send an email. For example, you could create a rule like below...

  • trigger - issue updated
  • condition - ??? any condition desired to limit when action is performed
  • action - send email - mohamed.mahmoud@gmail.com

The above rule would send out an email whenever an issue was updated and the specified conditions are met.

Please note that it will be important to include any desired info in the body of the email since the recipient will not be able to click on any link in the email to view the issue.
