Send an email notification when an issue type is changed

Can changes in issue type (category) be notified via email?  I receive email notification for issue activity except when the issue type is, for example, changed from Category A to Category B.  Is there a way to include the change in issue type in the email notification setting?  Thanks

Changing an issue's type is not a simple edit, the issue type is a structural thing because a lot of the configuration is determined by the issue type.

Jira doesn't see "change issue type" as an edit, like almost all of the other changes you might make to an issue, it sees it as a "move".  If you go to an issue and use the "move" option, you will be offered the options to move to a different project and/or issue type.

So.  If you want notifications about issue type change, you just need to change the notification scheme so that it notifies people on "move" as well as "edit"
