Removing "Transition to" and arrows from workflow transition options

David Calabrese February 18, 2023

Does anyone know how to remove the "Transition to" and arrows pointing to each status in the UI? I created a new workflow and applied it to a single issue type, then noticed the status options looks like this now. I've never seen it before and can't seem to find any way to get rid of it. Thanks!

Hey all. I figured out the solution to this thanks to what @Alex Koxaras _Relational_ had said. I had transitions connecting a few of my statuses to "Won't Do" to enable a Resolution screen to pop up. This would require the user to choose a reason why that issue was marked as Won't Do.

It turns you don't have to link those statuses with transitions and all that's required is to allow all transitions to be moved to Won't Do, then add the Resolution screen when editing the "All" transition that is tied to Won't Do. This will require any issue transitioned to Won't Do to choose a Resolution option.

Hi @David Calabrese and welcome to the community,

Unfortunately you can't change the UI. So as long there is a transition, there will also be an arrow.

thanks @Alex Koxaras _Relational_ ! In our company-managed project, we have other workflows with issue transitions that show up like this. I was curious if there was some setting I need to adjust to get it to look more like the screenshot below.

@David Calabrese it really depends on whether it's a normal transition (a line connecticting two statuses), or a global transition.

@Alex Koxaras _Relational_ This is the current workflow that I have published.Screenshot 2023-02-18 at 2.53.38 PM.png

It's show the possible status transitions like this in the Issue View.

Hello @David Calabrese

In Company Managed Software projects I see just the available Statuses in the dropdown.

But in Company Managed Service projects I see the Transition name, an arrow, and the destination Status.

I never noticed the difference in presentation between the two types of projects before. I'm not sure if that is a recent change, or if I just never noticed it.
