Release Version warnings in Jira does not check sub-task level

Angela Salunga April 20, 2021

Sub-tasks has code commits and no pull requests. On the Releases, it does not show Warnings on sub-task level because the fix version value is only updated on parent-jira.

If I update fix version value on sub-task, it will show it. Why do sub-tasks do not automatically inherit fix version values?

Hi @Angela Salunga

That is a great question, and there are several open suggestions to improve version handling between parents and sub-tasks.

The current work-arounds are to use workflow or Automation for Jira (A4J) rules to keep the versions in sync between the parents and children (sub-tasks).

Best regards,

Bill
