I restored the XML backup file from JIRA 8.0.0 to the 8.22 version environment. The restore was successful and JIRA could start and access normally, but I couldn't see the attachments in the issues. Then I copied the attachments from the 8.0.0 environment to the corresponding attachment directory of the new 8.22 version environment, JIRA failed to restart and reported an error: "Startup check failed, jira will be locked"

Thanks @ Yogesh. I forgot to mention that I am aware about the link you shared. I needed more of information related to detailing about a specific item considered for migration.

Say suppose I have identified the item for migration as ISSUES, what could be the potential fields/values that should go in details against this item?

Also, would using JIRA inbuilt Plugin feature, not require us to have a CSV import? Is JIRA plugin a stand alone feature not requiring import? Little confused here.Need help!

@Prathibha Nadig if you have been aware of this article provided by the Atlassian so in that they have mentioned the minimum requirement for CVS import like Summary field.

Suppose you have some extra fields then you need to create those fields in Jira then dot the Import.

Yes, In Jira there is an External system import feature is available using this you can import the data from CSV file.

Just you need to prepare the CSV file and then Admin --> system -->External System import select the CSV import then here you need to provide your CSV file and then need to map the CSV file column header to jira fields.

I suggest you to please do this activity on test instance before doing the production.
