Jira Automation: copy comments from trigger issue, is it possible?

Good afternoon all!

I have this question, an user is asking to create a rule to create a new issue based on data from trigger issue in a different project.

The problem I have is that information that he needs includes comments. He wants to copy all comments (or internal notes only if it's possible) to this new issue in project AA

How can I copy the comments? maybe including a json? how should it be?

thanks in advance,

Ro

Hi,

I had the same issue while configuring a new board for a new team. This means that you have issues from the other board in your backlog.

What I did was just filter the issues by component :

  1. Add components "Team A" and "Team B"
  2. Set the components to your issues
  3. Then in the general filter of
  • Board A : component = "Team A"
  • Board B : component = "Team B"

And voilà ! (if I dare say)

Just note that this works only if no issue is in both boards (ex: issue n°14 is in board A and Board B)

I hope this helped you !

Regards,

Vincent

Filter by the sprint of Team B and check if it have any issue that belongs to Team A
