Counting reopen times using Automation

Yael Geffen
September 21, 2023

Hi everyone,

I used this guide: https://confluence.atlassian.com/automationkb/how-to-count-the-number-of-times-an-issue-was-reopened-using-automation-for-jira-1183682960.html

to automate the reopen counter on Jira, and when I checked it, it seems to work only for the first time I reopen a ticket. When I move a ticket from "Done" to "To Do" the second time around, the rule doesn't execute and the number of times don't change to 1. Anyone knows why?

Hi @Aduri V V S N Srikanth

Welcome to the community!

What is next step after creating a Story?

Go through the below KB, you will get more details about it.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile?_ga=2.238498560.163662635.1538586303-105298085.1538586303

user stories..

What is the role/activity of 'Start Progress' button for each story?

Using this transition button you can move ticket/issue/story from one status to another let say..once you created a story it goes to Open/New status and you have clicked on Start Progress transition button it will move from Open/New to target status and shows that you have started working on it.

How to go through already defined workflow...that is how the 'Starus' changes to be done for a story as 'New'/Verified/Done like that?

To move the ticket/issue from one status(New) to another(Done) you need to use the transition button.
