Clean migration of the production environment to the cloud

Hi all,

I tested the migration from my Jira and Confluence Server instances to the cloud.

In the cloud space I made some changes and added some dummy data just to check that everything works as exepcted. Now I'm planning to migrate my production evnironment, but I want to perform a clean migration to a clean cloud space.

What is the right way to go? Create a new cloud space to migrate the production environment to? Restore the test cloud space to its default state, then migrate to it? Or something else?

Thank you,

Marco

Pre-requesites are simple - a working Jira Core 5.2.7.  You'll then need access to the Java version installs you need to step through, the Jira versions to step through, and database upgrades.

You should read the supported platforms docs for the Jira systems you will be installing - the recommended path for you is 6.4, 7.0, then 7.10 (although you might want to go from 5.2 to 6.0 first as well - you will discover that during testing).  I would strongly recommend reading the upgrade guides for those versions, and at the very least skim the release notes for versions in between them (6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 7.0, 7.1 etc)

Is it possible to directly upgrade from 5.2 to 6.0?
