Cloud software

----

I created a new project, and edited the workflow

- To-Do = requested

- In progress = partial

- Done - received

----

That works fine, but when I edited the status names, it changed all workflows that have to-do, in-progress, and done.

I go to change it back and says I can't because that names already exists.

---

I need to change this back, as many mature projects are impacted, and I don't think I can create a new status and just swap it in since that will affect existing tickets that won't be querable anymore? Or does a mapping take care of that?

Hi @kenny chow,

If you want to create a documentation of issues in JIRA, then you need to use the Atlassian Confluence. You can document about the issue in the Confluence and the link the page to the JIRA issues. Here is the Confluence documentation from Atlassian.

Hi @kenny chow

My personal recommendation is to use confluence and add links to help in field descriptions or dashboards.

it possible to create help ‘pop-ups’ with JavaScript in descriptions but I’ve found it to be an extra maintenance overhead that is better shipped to confluence.

confluence can be set to ‘public’ view access Jira users don’t need accounts setting up.
