Change the reporter from Automation for Jira to a user by an automation

Hello,

I have this automation below which creates subtask based on the field location status . It works fine however I would like to add another step/s to change the reporter of a sub task from "Automation for Jira" to assignee of the parent ticket. How can I accomplish that? Is it even possible? Thank you.

Hi Bella,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your inquiry about receiving a warning for multiple empty required fields when transitioning an issue.  There is not a plugin that I know of which will do this for you exactly.  Out-of-the-box, the transition action will stop on the first validator that fails.

My recommendation is that you add all required fields to the transition screen, itself.  This means that each of the required fields will have a star next to it.  When multiple fields are empty, the first field that fails to validate will show the warning:

In my example above, I modified the screen for the Escalate transition to include my two required fields.  Once the first field has a value, and the transition is attempted for a second time, the next required field that fails will show the warning:

This allows your users to fill in all the required fields without having to cancel the transition and manually edit the field value in the Issue View.

If you do not know which screen to modify, simply open up the workflow, click on the transition you want to modify the screen for, and click on the link with the name of the screen to the right:

Hope this is helpful.  If not, let me know and I can open a JAC Suggestion on your behalf.

Cheers

Hi @ASweeten it's a good solution but my team has multiple tabs when creating tickets and there are required fields on several of the tabs and the team would prefer not to modify where all required fields are located.  That's why I was trying to see if there was a way to display a message if someone tried to transition the ticket without filling in multiple fields to show all of the missed fields potentially at the top:
