Adding subtasks to an epic upon its transition

Hello, 

I would like to automate the addition of new sub tasks to an epic once this epic is transitioned, for example: an epic is transitioned from to do, to on going, then auomatically subtasks are created and added to it. 

I tried different ways to create a rule, but it only creates new tasks outside of the epic, and when i try to create subtasks it doesn't allow me to add it to the epic, it gives error and it says that it has no parent in the hierarchy, althought i select to apply to the current issue.

Yes, bi-directional integration of PTC and Jira is possible.

You can use OIM for the same. Supported versions and entities for both systems are:

• PTC Integrity Versions: 2009 and 10.x Tested on: 2009 SP 6, 10.7
• Jira: 4.x* (except 4.4), 5.x, 6.x, 7.x (till 7.11.x), Cloud 

• PTC Integrity: All custom entities
• Jira: All System & Custom Issue Types, Sub-Task Types, Version and Worklog; Sub-Task write, and Version is not supported below Jira Version 5.0
