Add second comment field during WF transition

Matteo Napoleoni
April 21, 2023

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to add a second comment field during a transition in the WF.

Jira_0.png

I would need the comment field, because I want whatever users write to end up directly in the comment field, visible in the issue activity.

I tried to add the comment field in the screen I use for the transition, unfortunately the field is not available.

I thought about adding another screen during the transition, but I saw that I can only have one screen.

Is there any workaround?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Matteo

You should target either 7.6 (it's the enterprise release, so will have long term support) or 7.10 if you want the "most stable" and plan to upgrade more regularly (as it won't be patched, just new releases done)

The features and benefits are listed in the release notes for each version - see https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/jira-software-release-notes-776821069.html for all the 7's, and a link to older notes.

Thanks.

Does it impact our current license agreement, as we have renewed it in Feb.

You can upgrade to any version released before the end of your licence time.  As you've got until Feb 2019, yes, all current versions are available to you.

Thanks.

Kindly share jira 7.6.4 Trial installer link for POC purpose.

There is no "trial" installer.  You install Jira and apply a licence of the type you need - evaluation (trial) or production are the obvious types.  (Academic, Open Source, and Developer are variations on those)

If your trial goes well, you're expected to replace the trial licence with a production one - this seamlessly converts your trial system to a production one with no impact on usage.

I am able to download jira 5.2.11.exe file from below link,

          https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download-archives

But can't see 'JIRA 7.6.4.exe' available on this link.

Please let me know the correct link , so that will download the exe.

Thanks,

Sujata

Jira 7 changed the layout of the downloads a bit (which is a pain in the neck, I'd prefer to have them all in one place) - go to https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download
