How to write a nested query

So we have Initiatives that have Epics and they in turn have Stories that are pointed.

I would like to query for a given initiatives, give me a sum of all points planned and all points completed.

How do I structure this query in JQL?

You might want to consider using a form instead. It saves you the admin of creating multiple custom fields. ProForma lets you create dropdowns with an "other" option. You can also link the form field through to a Jira field for easy querying/reporting.
