Emails attached to an issue opens as text

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

We have emails added as attachments to our issues. When we click them they opens as text files. The only way we can get them to open in Outlook is to download them first (unnecessary step) 

How can we open them automatically in Outlook without downloading them first?

With the latest version of JIRA (from 6.2 I guess), you don't need any plugins for this. You can just configure a filter on the user picker under the custom field configuration.

My recommendation would be to upgrade!

Hi Jobin, unfortunately this is only possible for single user picker fields (referring to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-7659). Just like Alok, I need this functionality for multi user pickers.
