I am triggering an Automation that transitions an Issue. Automation Actor is "Automation for Jira". In the post function of the Workflow, there is a script that updates the issue.
As the transition is triggered by the Automation, the post function runs in the context of "Automation for Jira".
The postfunction fails, as "Automation for Jira" does not have the permissions to edit the issue.
Question is: how can I fix that?
"Automation for Jira" is not a user that I can add to the project. Is there something in the permission scheme that I need to change?
Thanks in advance,
Bernd
Hello,
As far as I know, Jira does not offer such a feature by default. However you can design a workflow transition for this purpose.
Now your users can use this transition whenever they will make a non-technical comment that you want your reporter to see. However there is a downside to this. You need add this transition to all statuses in the workflow and that means a lot of work.
There is also another option that you can use: comment security. But this means that your reporter will also not be able to see all the comments made with this security option.
These are the ones that come to my mind but maybe other users can offer other solutions.
