Question related to worklog bulk import to Jira cloud

Brinda Tailor August 29, 2022

We use Jira premium cloud and I am trying to bulk import issues with worklog on it. I know the format of the worklog should look like this:

Summary,Worklog
Only time spent (one hour),3600
With a date and an author,2012-02-10 12:30:10;wseliga;120
With an additional comment,Testing took me 3 days;2012-02-10 12:30:10;wseliga;259200

But, I tried using similar format and I got this error:

"Exception occurred parsing worklog 'Test;2022-08-21;BTailor;144000'. It will be skipped"

I also tried using different date formats like: 21/Aug/2022 but it didn't work. I also tried using different author formats like: BTailor, (my email id).

It didn't work. Can someone help me with this? Thanks!

Hi @Brinda Tailor

Use the User ID in case of Cloud Platform, it will Import.

In place of "BTailor" you should use the User ID which can be obtained when you export the users in User Management Section

Let me know if it helps

Thanks,
Pramodh

Hi Pramodh,

I tried using the user  id, but I still got the error.

Exception occurred parsing worklog 'Test;21/Aug/2022 8:30:00;60d2678600bdd9006899e260;57600'. It will be skipped

This is what I tried importing:

Issue Type,Summary,Status,Tags,Worklog,Remaining Work,Original Estimate
Task,Test Task,Active,,Test;21/Aug/2022 8:30:00;60d2678600bdd9006899e260;57600,86400,144000
Task,Test Task 2,Active,,Test 2;20/Aug/2022;60d2678600bdd9006899e260;10800,61200,72000

Hi @Pramodh M

I got the same problem and simply adding the accountID doesn´t solve it.

Any further ideas?

Best
Stefan

@Pramodh M

forget my last post. Using the accountID DID solve the problem.

I just had a weird sorting of my comments....my bad :/

sorry for the confusion.

Best
Stefan
