Hi,
My question is related to the below.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17582
Since the status is closed, I am not sure if my comment posted there would get a reply. Hence retyping my Question here.
=======================================================
Hello Mr. Ivan Teong, (Product Manager, Jira Software),
In your Atlassian Status Update - 6th April 2020, you have mentioned the below.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regarding bringing already-cleared issues back to the board (which we don't encourage as it might be better to create a new issue instead reflecting the latest thinking about that work), you can simply change the status of the issue.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We would like to have all items with DONE status to remain on the board. Also we are not doing any manual clear, still the Done items are getting cleared after some time automatically from the board.
Based on your suggestion above, just to get back all the Items with Done status back onto the board, we manually changed the status of all the issues with Status Done to something else to bring it back to the board & then again put them back in the Done Status, but they still disappear automatically after some days.
Pls help us with this. It is very important for us to retain all the DONE items on the board.
Thanks,
Adil

Welcome to the community.
Unfortunatelly this is a behavior of Team-Managed (aka Next-gen).
To have this flexibility, you should move to a Company-Managed project, so you can configure your board behavior as you wish.
Here is the kb for "how to" https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/migrate-between-next-gen-and-classic-projects/
Keep in mind the limitations and some workaround before move, otherwise you end up loosing data from the old project.
I hope this helps
Hi Patricia,
Thanks for your quick reply.
However a JIRA change ticket was created for this long ago, but is now in closed status.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17582
We need this functionality in the Team managed Projects, could you pls help us.
THX,
Adil.

I cant help that much :) Just a volunteer here in community.
But, the feature you mentioned in your post is different from the suggestion you replied.
This is the suggestion to be able to disable the removal of done issues from the board
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-21257
You can vote and watch it to know what is the progress, comment and etc.
But be aware that the suggestions have policies, and not all of them are applied / considered.
https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/implementation-of-new-features-policy-201294576.html
So the imediate solution for your need, is what I have informed you in my answer above.
Or use the workaround suggested in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-21257
